There's a very space-agey, yet grim and utilitarian ladies' bathroom in the Eltingville Transit Center Bus Station. The impression is of being inside a huge brushed aluminum air conditioner. On this audio piece you hear the soap pump, the running water, the sound of the power air dryer, and so on. Over it all is the sound of forced air from the vents in the ceiling. It sounds like (and is) an incredibly inhospitable environment for human beings.
